Being an adult—or at least old enough to pass for one—comes with its fair share of questions, doesn’t it? One of the big ones for me lately has been, “Why do I drink so much?” Well, let’s break it down. Currently, I find myself imbibing more than usual because, well, I’m back living with my parents. As much as I love them, they have a special talent for driving me up the wall. Living with others, especially after being on my own for a while, has revealed my inner feral side. And you know what? I kind of like the feral Jude.
I’ve come to a point in life where I’m content with who I am. I’ve tried the whole “changing to please others” thing, and it didn’t work out too well. Sure, I’m all for compromise, but changing my core self to fit someone else’s mold? Not my style. This includes my family too. I am who I am, take it or leave it.
It’s important to stay true to yourself, even when faced with questions and doubts from others. Keep being the feral, authentic you, and the right people will appreciate and embrace that.
