The question of the day is: what happens when you mix 15 Aussies, 2 Americans, and 1 Brit in a situation with lots of alcohol, some boats, and a barbecue? Something that almost resembles fun! In all seriousness, we had a blast with this eclectic group of people. It’s amazing how alcohol, boats, and a barbecue can bring strangers together and create memorable experiences.
One thing I’ve noticed about my travels here in Australia so far is the friendliness of the people. If you share a drink with someone, you’ve made a friend for the night. If you buy a drink for someone, you’ve made a friend for life. It’s a simple gesture that goes a long way in this welcoming culture. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the Aussies; they’re an open, fun-loving bunch, and I’m grateful for the time I’ve spent here.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to welcome a new American friend who will be joining me soon. We’re planning to explore Melbourne and Sydney together, soaking up the vibrant culture and enjoying the sights. It’s going to be a whirlwind adventure, and I can’t wait to see what new experiences and friendships await us.
